What is StreetCred?
A practice platform for Excel-based finance interviews and modelling tests. You download a case workbook, build the model in desktop Excel, upload the finished .xlsx, and receive a scored report comparing your file against the case answer key cell by cell.
What does the free diagnostic include?
The StreetCred Diagnostic Case: a 30-minute integrated 3-statement build for a retailer with supermarket and liquor revenue streams. It carries 48 scored checks — every one requiring a live formula — and includes reattempts, so you can rebuild after reading your report.
Are the quizzes free?
Yes. Every case in the library has a quiz you can take with a free StreetCred account — no card needed. Beyond the free diagnostic, you pay only for scored Excel models — on the Desk or through the Intro Pack.
How does the scoring actually work?
Each case has an answer key mapping specific cells to expected values with numeric tolerances. The scorer checks your value for each cell, verifies that calculated outputs contain live formulas rather than typed numbers, and grades hygiene such as number formats. Your process score weights formulas 70% and hygiene 30%.
What does a score report show?
A total score, readiness by module (for example, debt schedule versus returns analysis on the LBO case), your top deductions, and per-cell feedback that identifies the submitted value and type of issue without revealing the answer key — plus individual flags on any output that was hardcoded instead of calculated.
Why is StreetCred different from studying completed templates?
A template shows a finished answer; StreetCred grades whether you can produce one. The scorer will even flag a correct value that was typed rather than built — the same judgement an interviewer makes when they open your test file and trace an output.
What do the paid options cost?
The Desk is US$35 per month, cancel anytime: choose three deals every two weeks by model type and get each Excel model scored. The Intro Pack is a one-time US$25 for three intermediate 120-minute cases — a full-model LBO (107 scored checks), an operating model built from real easyJet annual-report materials (75 checks), and a consumer-goods DCF (57 checks) — with reattempts included. The AI interviewer is included: 3 AI interviews a month on a free account, no limit on the Desk.
Can I practise the interview as well as the model?
Yes. The AI interviewer runs a voice mock interview personalised to your target role and stage, and after you score 80% or more on a case model you can present it to an MD by voice. A free account includes 3 AI interviews a month; the Desk has no limit. Interview feedback is AI judgement for practice. It never changes a model score, star or clearance, and it is not professional advice or a prediction of any interview or hiring outcome.
Do I need desktop Excel?
Yes. The workbooks are built for desktop Excel: complete the model, recalculate, save, and upload the .xlsx. Keep the template's required sheets and title cells intact — uploads are validated before scoring, and a failed validation does not use up a scored attempt.
Does StreetCred guarantee an interview or job outcome?
No. StreetCred is practice and feedback software. It makes your preparation measurable and specific; it does not promise interviews, offers, or employment.
