## Short answer

Wall Street Prep, Breaking Into Wall Street and Corporate Finance Institute teach financial modelling through self-paced video courses, templates and exams, and each offers a certificate or certification. StreetCred is scored practice: you build a case workbook in desktop Excel, upload it and get a cell-by-cell report, with free quizzes on every case and an AI voice interviewer. You can learn from a course and practise on StreetCred.

| StreetCred | 300+ real-world modelling cases with free quizzes. On the Desk, each deal assigns you a case to build yourself in desktop Excel. [10] | Your uploaded workbook, scored cell by cell on outcomes, formulas and model hygiene, plus a free quiz on every case. No certification. | A spoken AI mock interview tailored to your target role, and Present to the MD, a case interview on your own model once your best model score on that case is 80 or more. 3 AI interviews a month on a free account; unlimited AI interviews on the Desk. Feedback is AI judgement and never changes a model score. | Monthly subscription: the Desk at US$35 per month, cancel anytime. Quizzes and the diagnostic are free. [11] |

> These prices are not like for like. The courses sell a curriculum: a one-off purchase (Wall Street Prep, BIWS Premium), a year of access (the BIWS Platinum annual plan) or an annual membership (CFI). StreetCred's Desk is a monthly practice subscription at US$35 per month. Ask what you would use, and for how long, rather than comparing the numbers.

## What is the difference between a modelling course and scored practice?

A course teaches you how a model is built: videos walk through the logic, templates show the finished structure, and exams check what you learnt. A modelling test asks you to do it yourself: build from a prompt and hand in a workbook that works.

StreetCred practises that second part. Each case gives you a brief, assumptions and a template; you complete the model in desktop Excel and upload it. The scorer checks your outputs against an answer key, flags hardcoded outputs and checks number formats, and the report shows exactly which cells cost you marks.

## Which should you choose?

- New to modelling: a structured course is the natural place to start, and scored practice is most useful once you know the method.

- You want a certificate or certification for your CV: each of the three courses offers one; StreetCred does not.

- You know the method and have a test coming: practise full builds and get each one scored.

- You want to test your understanding for free: every StreetCred case has a quiz, free with an account.

- You want to practise speaking: StreetCred's AI voice interviewer runs mock interviews and case interviews on your own model.

- Not sure where you stand: take StreetCred's free 30-minute diagnostic and read the report by module.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is StreetCred a financial modelling course?

No. StreetCred is practice and feedback: you build realistic case workbooks in desktop Excel and get each upload scored. It does not teach through video lessons, so pair it with a course, or with StreetCred's free modelling guides, while you learn the method.

### Should I take a modelling course or practise cases?

It depends where you are. If you are learning modelling for the first time, a course gives you the method. If you know the method and have a test coming, building full cases and reading what broke is the closer rehearsal. You can do both.

### Are StreetCred's quizzes free?

Yes. Every case in the library has a quiz you can take with a free StreetCred account, no card needed. You pay only for scored Excel models beyond the free diagnostic, on the Desk or through the Intro Pack.

### Does StreetCred include interview practice?

Yes. The AI voice interviewer runs a spoken mock interview tailored to your target role. Present to the MD is a case interview on a model you built, available once your best model score on that case is 80 or more. Free accounts get 3 AI interviews a month, and the Desk has unlimited AI interviews. Feedback is AI judgement and never changes a model score.

### Why aren't the prices compared directly?

Because they buy different things. A course price buys a curriculum, either once or for a year; StreetCred's Desk (US$35 per month, cancel anytime) buys scored practice while you subscribe. Compare what you would actually use.

### Does StreetCred give a certificate?

No. Wall Street Prep, Breaking Into Wall Street and Corporate Finance Institute each offer a certificate or certification. StreetCred gives you a scored report on every workbook you upload; it is not a certification and does not promise interviews or offers.

### Who checked the facts on this page?

StreetCred checked every price and feature against each provider's own pages on the date shown at the top of the page, and Lewis Grafton reviewed the page before publication. Prices and features change, so the Sources list links to each page for the current version.
